CARBON EMISSION AND CARBON FOOTPRINT

Carbon emission and carbon footprint are very commonly used phrases today to be responsible Community or an industry this post explain the circumstances of, carbon emission and carbon footprint at a distinctive.

Wat is carbon emission?

Any living or non living organisms emitting carbon-di-oxide to environment is called carbon emission. Some of you might be thinking “even human emit CO2 to environment” well I should say you are right. So does it mean we are emitting carbon to our surroundings and causing pollution, well I would like to say yes sounds funny to me but true. We all the human beings and the entire animal family causing carbon emission to environment. Can we avoid it of course not, unless we are not breathing out CO2 anymore. Even trees and plants emit CO2 at night. I have mentioned animals and plants emit CO2, so live alone machines. So technically everything present on this planet give out CO2 to environment at some point of the day.  In CO2 compound only C (carbon) is causing carbon emission, I believe now you have an Idea of carbon emission. 

If all the living organisms can contribute for carbon emission so can the construction Industry. Since it’s not just a carbon dioxide the construction industry emits, it’s a collective of other poisonous gasses causing green house effect inside the planet. 

What is carbon footprint?

A carbon footprint is a measurement of collective poisonous gasses, causing GHG (Green House Gasses) directly or indirectly by person, organisation, event or by products. Is called carbon footprint. 

Eg: As your day to day life as you wake up early in the morning the pillow you are sleeping on. the elements required to make a pillow,

·      raw materials for producing it and to transport it to manufacture, 

·      energy used by machine to manufacture a finished product 

·      to transport finished product to the shops you bought it from 

·      the transportation energy used by to get pillow back home. 

This is just one element of various thing we use in our daily life contributes to carbon footprint.  

To know more about carbon footprint we would have to understand, embodied energy in making a product or a building.

Is carbon emission and carbon footprint responsible for climate change?

Well some people say, yes. The carbon dioxide emitted is trapped in our atmosphere. The heat generated on the planet and the radiation from the sun is trapped inside the atmosphere making our planet much hotter than it should be and hence responsible for the climate change

How to reduce carbon footprint?

Planting trees is one of the methods, to start with we can start growing healthy plants in our apartment or in our office spaces to reduce the CO2 emission caused by our gadgets. Scientist’s say terrestrial plants can reduce 29% of environmental produced CO2. 

1.     Waste management (starts at home/office)

2.     Energy utilization

3.     Growing plants

These are some of the important elements that can be started immediately to reduce your carbon footprint.
